Latasha and Cliff both grew up in the Urban Core of Kansas City from single parent homes and was raised to value education. They have three daughters, two have bachelor’s degrees and the youngest is pursuing her doctorate degree at Cornell University. Latasha and Cliff both took time off from their lucrative careers to start CornerStone because of the need they saw in their daughters, despite their affluent upbringing. Also, they understood the even greater need for underserved communities and felt the overwhelming desire to do something about it.

Latasha is a licensed CPA with a B.S. degree in Accounting from University of Maryland. She has over 25 years of finance and accounting experience working for major corporations like Humana (Kindred at Home), Hallmark, USDA and Sprint. In addition, she has owned and operated her own tax business. Her expertise also includes leading large teams and she has taught financial literacy classes for other organizations.

Cliff has over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology industry. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and earned his B.S. degree in Information Technology and his MBA from University of Kansas. After serving in the Army he began a career in the private sector holding roles at Black & Veatch, New Directions Behavioral Health, a subsidiary of Blue Cross & Blue Shield and most recently Amazon. He has led large I.T. departments and teams and has expertise in management, technology, and leadership. He has mentored many young people of varying ages in the corporate sector and nonprofit organizations for over a decade.
